This was a Timber Framer's Guild project done in 2001. The project was a pavilion for the fisheries research institute in Athens, Texas. The weather was good, the people very nice and hospitable, the area beautiful and the project interesting. A good time was had by all.

There were five instructors and about 30 students. The timing worked out perfectly as the raising was completed on the last day at about 1:00 PM, just in time for our closing picnic.

Size: ~30 ft x 30 ft

A little instruction.

A little organized chaos.

A little thinking.

A little lifting.

A little mortising.

Before

Stern supervision. The all seeing eye, steel hand in a velvet glove, etc

Drive a few pegs and...

...stand up the walls.

A little rigging.

I hope this fits.

The roof was mostly assembled on the ground and then lifted into place as a unit.
